Nottingham Forest released the 30-year-old in the summer after he failed to score or assist in 17 Premier League games.

After 11 years at Manchester United, Lingard had a great loan stint with West Ham in the second part of the 2020-21 season.

He remаins unsigned after practicing with the Hammers in the summer and a month with Steven Gerrard’s Saudi Pro League team, Al-Ettifaq.

On Thursday night, the midfielder posted an Instagram video of him doing exercises and tests.

Lingard looked fit and was instructed by a personal coach before stating, ‘Working baby’, to end the video.

It was expected he may get a contract with Al-Ettifaq after scoring four minutes into their friendly against Al-Khaldiya in his maiden game.

He departed the club without a contract at the end of October.

Lingard also trained with Inter Miami in July after being linked to MLS.

In September, Mail Sport claimed that Lingard’s trial at West Ham cost the club thousands of pounds in housing and travel costs while practicing with the team.

West Ham reportedly put Lingard up in a hotel for several weeks and provided transportation for him when he received a six-month driving ban earlier this summer for failing to identify the driver of his fast vehicle last year.

Lingard trained with West Ham for six weeks before his Al-Ettifaq tenure failed.

Lingard, who formerly played for Leicester City, Birmingham, Brighton, and Derby following numerous loan periods at Old Trafford, has 32 England caps and was Gareth Southgate’s favorite, although he has not played for England since 2021.
