People are getting ready for GRAHAM POTTER to take over for Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
SunSport has learned that new backer Sir Jim Ratcliffe has met with Potter, who used to be the manager of Chelsea, and wants him to take over at Old Trafford if Ten Hag is fired.
Manchester United is looking at Graham Potter to replace Ten Hag.
Erik ten Hag is getting more and more sacked at Old Trafford.
After Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich at home in the Champions League, the threаt to the Dutchman’s job grew.
United crashed out of Europe with just FOUR points, which was their lowest number ever in the group stage.
Even though they came in last place in Group A, they did not drop into the Europa League.
Ten Hag’s flops were booed off as their season Һit a new low. They were also drilled 3-0 by Bournemouth in the Premier League last Saturday.
And a bad loss on Sunday at Liverpool, a team United badly beаt 7-0 in March, could be the last straw for Ten Hag, who is under a lot of pressure.
United fired Jose Mourinho after a 3-1 loss to Jurgen Klopp’s team in December 2018.
Potter, 48, hasn’t been in charge of a team since April, when Chelsea fired him after less than a season in charge.
But Ratcliffe is still a big fan of the former Swansea and Brighton manager and wаnted him to lead Nice in France.
The CEO of Ineos is going to buy 25% of United next week and will take over sports operations right away.
Potter turned down the chance this week to take over as boss of Championship team Stoke from Alex Neil.
People know that he would only go back to the bench if there was a big job to do.
The fifth permanent boss for United since Sir Alex Ferguson left after winning the Premier League title in 2012–13 is Ten Hag.
But the 53-year-old Dutchman is going the same way as his predecessors, even though he had a good first season in charge.
Last season, the former Ajax manager led United to third place in the Premier League, both domestic cup finals, and the Carabao Cup, which was their first trophy in six years.
They have lost 12 of their 24 games this season across all categories, going backwards.
Bruno Fernandes, the captain, will not play in Sunday’s game at Anfield because he is suspended. Also, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, both defenders, are doubtful after getting hurt against Bayern.
United will also lose more than £20 million in money after they were knocked out of the Champions League.
They are thought to have set aside money to make it to the quarterfinals, which means they will miss out on matchday income, TV money, and participation and performance fees.
Ratcliffe enjoys Harry Potter a lot.
