During the evening of November 21, the Global Soccer Awards, which are more widely referred to in Vietnam as the Dubai Golden Ball, made the announcement of the nominee lists for this year. One of the categories that draws the most attention is “Best Male Player,” which is one of the categories.

 

A number of well-known players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe, are among the thirty names included in the announcement.

Taking into consideration the structure of the prize, the winner will be determined after two rounds of voting. In the first round, which is comprised of online voting for fans all around the world, the voting period begins on November 21 and continues until December 7. Following the conclusion of this round, the 11 names that received the most votes will go to the next round. The second round will take place from the 12th to the 28th of December, and the outcomes will be determined by a combination of online voting by fans and a panel of thirty individuals chosen by the organizers. On January 18, 2024, the festivities for the awards gala will take place.

 

Given that the award is primarily dependent on the votes of fans, Ronaldo, who is the player who has the highest fan following on social networks, will have a significant edge over the other potential winners. The award has only been given out thirteen times, but Ronaldo has been the recipient of it six times. It is possible for the Portuguese superstar to take on Messi in order to win the seventh championship.

 

Up to now, Ronaldo is leading in the first round of voting with more than 40% of the votes. Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou ranked second with 20.1%. Messi only has 6.9%.
