The festivities took a somber turn for the Suns as Bradley Beal exited the game in the first quarter after sustaining an ankle injury while attempting a three. 

Despite the setback, the Suns fought to stay competitive, with Jorden Goodwin stepping up in Beal’s absence. However, Brunson’s outstanding performance, coupled with Julius Randle’s control of the paint, allowed the Knicks to maintain control and pull away in the final minutes.

The first half saw a competitive start, but Beal’s injury added to the Suns’ challenges. The game remained close, with Durant’s individual efforts keeping the Suns in contention. The Suns entered halftime with a 68-63 lead, but their defensive struggles were evident.

In the second half, Booker and Durant continued to showcase their offensive prowess, extending the Suns’ lead to nine points at its highest.
