Striker Erling Haaland will not be able to play in the FIFA Club World Cup final with Man City due to injury.

This morning, December 20 (Vietnam time), Man City played the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against Asian representative Urawa Reds. After 90 minutes of play, coach Pep Guardiola’s team won 3-0. The goals of the reigning European Cup champions were scored by Kovacic, Bernardo Silva and Hoibraten’s own goal on the opponent’s side.

Haaland did not participate in this match because he has not recovered from his injury. Not only that, the Norwegian striker will certainly not be able to play in the final against Fluminense (Brazil), taking place at 1:00 a.m. on December 23.

Coach Pep Guardiola confirmed: “Haaland still cannot practice due to injury. De Bruyne has started training after 4 months of recovery but still needs more time to return.

Haaland was absent from Man City’s last 3 matches, respectively against Luton and Crystal Palace (Premier League) and Urawa Reds (FIFA Club World Cup). The Etihad home team beat Luton 2-1 and Urawa Reds 3-0, but let Crystal Palace draw 2-2.

Evaluating the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup final, coach Pep Guardiola said: “The fans’ expectations are huge. We want to explore new goals and we will try to win the only title that our players do not have yet.”
