During his emotional acceptance speech, the 72-year-old expressed gratitude to the BBC and those who played a part in his journey. He acknowledged the football clubs that supported him, starting with Celtic, then Liverpool, Blackburn, and ultimately returning to Liverpool. Dalglish emphasized the joy of winning and the reciprocal relationship with the supporters who stood by him.

The 30-year-old, overcoming injury setbacks, secured her second heptathlon World Championship title in Budapest in 2023. Johnson-Thompson candidly shared her journey, acknowledging moments of doubt and celebrating her resilience, earning admiration from the sports community.
