Liverpool Council Reveals Special Code Name for Taylor Swift’s Anfield Concerts
Liverpool Council culture officials have disclosed that a special working group, referred to as “Taylor Town,” has been established to plan for Taylor Swift’s upcoming Eras Tour concerts at Anfield. The pop star is set to perform for three nights in June, marking her return to the UK after five years. The UK and Europe leg of the tour kicks off in Paris on May 9 and concludes in London in August.
Sue Gibson of Culture Liverpool highlighted the extensive planning involved in hosting the megastar’s concerts, emphasizing the significant impact it will have on the city. The working group is dedicated to ensuring the success of the event, considering various elements, including safeguarding measures for the expected younger audience.
Discussions are underway regarding the extension of the Soccerbus service for fans attending the concerts, as no parking will be provided for the gigs in June. The committee members expressed the anticipation of Taylor Swift’s presence being noticeable when people arrive in the city, emphasizing the heightened excitement surrounding the event.
Taylor Swift has previously collaborated with Liverpool, filming the video for her single “I Can See You” at various landmarks in the city. The video features actress Joey King and Taylor Lautner, with scenes shot in iconic locations such as the Cunard Building on Water Street. The upcoming Anfield shows mark another significant connection between the global pop star and the city of Liverpool.
