Jurgen Klopp Confirms Szoboszlai’s Return for FA Cup Clash
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has announced the return of midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai to the squad ahead of the FA Cup clash with Norwich, marking a potential boost for the Reds. Szoboszlai, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the beginning of the month, has resumed training this week along with Andrew Robertson.
Klopp, addressing reporters, revealed the fitness status of the returning players and the uncertainty surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s inclusion in the lineup. “There’s a chance for all of them, but we will really have to see,” Klopp stated. “It’s touch and go.”
He went on to provide insights into Robertson’s readiness, stating, “Robbo is physically ready, and I think it was good to have him in the matchday squad. He’s completely in the normal team training schedule, like Dom from tomorrow on. That means he is obviously ready for minutes.”
However, the status of Alexander-Arnold remains uncertain as he has not participated in team training yet. Klopp explained, “With Trent, is it already Norwich or is it the game after? We have to see.”
Klopp expressed his satisfaction with Joe Gomez’s performance in Robertson’s absence, praising the defender’s contribution during the challenging period. “He’s the winner of the season for sure, he is back to his best,” Klopp remarked.
Reflecting on the team’s adaptability to injuries, he added, “We can always deal with a few injuries. A few more, and you might have to change formation, that’s what we did.”
As Liverpool navigates through a busy schedule, the potential return of key players could significantly strengthen their squad for upcoming competitions.
