Cristiano Ronaldo Faces Backlash After Postponed Friendlies on China Tour
Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent injury during the Al Nassr match led to the postponement of scheduled friendlies in China, prompting the football star to apologize to Chinese fans.
However, the apology seems to have fallen short of public acceptance, as social media erupted with criticism after Ronaldo and his team were reportedly made to travel on a regular bus, leading to frustration among organisers.
The Knights of Najd, Ronaldo’s Al Nassr team, had special travel arrangements arranged by supporters and organisers for their China tour.
Instead, they experienced a less-than-ideal conclusion to their visit, as the customary tour bus for visiting teams was replaced by an ordinary bus when departing the country. This unexpected change sparked social media mockery and criticism directed at Ronaldo and his team for not fulfilling their commitment to the friendly matches.
Despite the backlash, there are indications that Al Nassr might return to China in the future. A journalist from Saudi Arabia noted that the tour has been rescheduled for September 30 on the ticketing platform. Cristiano Ronaldo, acknowledging the setbacks, has pledged that the team will visit China in the future, suggesting a possible return later in the year.
