Al-Nassr Eyes Manchester United’s Casemiro, but Midfielder Prefers Stay at Old Trafford
Amid speculations of a potential move to Al-Nassr, Casemiro from Manchester United is determined to stay at Old Trafford despite limited playing time due to injuries, according to sources. The Saudi Arabian club has reportedly identified the Brazilian midfielder as a top target, with Al-Nassr positioned at the forefront to secure his services.
Casemiro has faced injury challenges, resulting in sporadic appearances for Manchester United this season. However, he is poised to make a return to the first-team setup for the upcoming FA Cup game against Newport County.
HITC Football sources reveal that while Al-Nassr is keen on signing Casemiro, the player is resolute about remaining with Manchester United and fighting for his future at the club. Cristiano Ronaldo’s influence is said to have played a role in Al-Nassr’s interest in Casemiro, as the Portuguese star encouraged the Saudi Arabian club to pursue the midfielder.
Despite intermediaries making contact with both Manchester United and Casemiro this month, sources suggest that the Brazilian and his camp consider a January move unlikely. The Pro League side, however, has conveyed that if Casemiro expresses willingness to join them, they would make a move for the 31-year-old.
Additionally, Al-Nassr is reportedly interested in another Manchester United player, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, after a failed attempt to sign Emerson Royal from Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite the interest in Wan-Bissaka, the defender, whose contract extension has been exercised by Manchester United, is currently inclined to remain in Manchester and pursue a new contract with the club. Talks have taken place between United and Wan-Bissaka, potentially ending Al-Nassr’s pursuit of the 26-year-old.
