Positive Signs as Mohamed Salah Resumes Training for Liverpool After Hamstring Injury
In a boost to Liverpool’s squad, star forward Mohamed Salah is making progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury, as he was spotted training on the grass at the AXA Training Centre. The Egyptian had sustained the injury while representing his country in the Africa Cup of Nations, leading to his withdrawal from Egypt’s Group B match against Ghana.
Originally anticipated to be out of action for three to four weeks, Salah’s recovery has been facilitated by Egypt’s exit from the tournament at the last 16 stage. Now back at Liverpool, the No. 11 has taken to social media, posting an image of himself running during training, signaling positive developments in his rehabilitation.
Liverpool officially shared the encouraging post on their account, captioning it with a straightforward but optimistic statement: “Recovery work continues for @MoSalah.”
Despite the positive signs, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp remains cautious about rushing Salah back into action. Speaking ahead of the upcoming match against Chelsea, Klopp emphasized that Salah’s injury “takes time” and hinted that the winger is unlikely to be available for the clash against Burnley next weekend.
Taking into account the timelines provided by Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, and Klopp’s cautious approach, it is speculated that Salah could make his return during Liverpool’s away game against Brentford on February 17.
Salah’s return would add considerable firepower to Liverpool’s attacking lineup, joining the recently recovered Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, and Dominik Szoboszlai. With the potential return of Wataru Endo from the Asian Cup, Liverpool looks set to bolster its squad for the challenges ahead.
While the Reds aim to stay competitive across all competitions, Salah’s goal-scoring prowess has been a vital asset, with 18 goals in all competitions during the 2023/24 season. Liverpool fans eagerly anticipate his return, as he aims to continue his remarkable streak of scoring at least 20 goals every season since joining the club six years ago.
