During the 22nd round of the 2023-2024 Premier League season, Manchester City defeated Burnley by a score of 3-1 thanks to one of Alvarez’s two goals.

Alvarez scored twice, and Manchester City defeated Burnley with relative ease.

 

Despite the fact that Erling Haaland had returned to the team, Pep Guardiola chose to keep him on the bench for the encounter that took place early on the morning of February 1. The advantage of three goals is just enough for Manchester City to slow down the game and maintain their dominance throughout the contest. After spending a significant amount of time on the bench, coach Pep Guardiola decided to send Haaland onto the field in the 77th minute in order to assist him in regaining the sensation of playing. However, the Norwegian striker did not have any shots that were on target during the match.

Towards the end of the game, Burnley’s efforts were essential in assisting them in scoring a goal that was worthy of praise in the 90+2 minute. In the end, Manchester City triumphed with a resounding 3-1 victory. Pep Guardiola and his team have now won four games in a row, making this is their fourth consecutive triumph.

With three points, Manchester City maintains its position as the second-best team in the rankings, with 46 points. They are five points behind the top team, Liverpool, but they have played one fewer match.
