Darwin Nunez Shakes Off Foot Injury Concerns, Confirmed in Training Ahead of Arsenal Clash
Jurgen Klopp’s uncertainty about Darwin Nunez’s availability against Arsenal has been alleviated as the striker was confirmed to have participated in Friday’s training session. Earlier, Klopp had expressed doubts about Nunez’s status, revealing that the player had worn a protective boot midweek. This led to concerns about his potential absence, with Cody Gakpo considered as a replacement.
Footage of Nunez arriving for training emerged on social media later in the day, and it has now been confirmed that he actively participated in the session. The striker was among the 25 players seen training at the AXA Training Centre, with Alexis Mac Allister also involved after recovering from a knee blow against Chelsea.
In a positive development, Thiago was seen joining full training, and Kostas Tsimikas appears to have been cleared for contact work following his collarbone injury. The squad also features the returnees Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Andy Robertson.
With Klopp’s injury concerns easing, the only absentees are Joel Matip, Mohamed Salah, Stefan Bajcetic, and Ben Doak, along with Wataru Endo, who is participating in the Asian Cup. Notably, there are no reports of new injuries in the squad.
The confirmed squad for the upcoming Arsenal clash includes:
Goalkeepers: Alisson, Kelleher, Adrian, Mrozek

Midfielders: Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Thiago, Gravenberch, Elliott, McConnell, Clark
