Liverpool Set to Travel with 25-Man Squad for Arsenal Clash, Limited Absences in Training Buildup
Liverpool is expected to travel to London with a full-strength 25-man squad for their crucial Premier League clash against Arsenal. Jurgen Klopp faces a “luxury problem” with key players returning from injury, and the squad depth has been in outstanding form.
In the buildup to the game, only five senior players were absent from training, showcasing Liverpool’s improved fitness situation. Key players, including Darwin Nunez (foot), Kostas Tsimikas (collarbone), and Thiago (hip), participated in full training, dispelling concerns about their fitness.
Despite initial doubts over Nunez’s availability for the Arsenal clash, the Uruguayan striker was able to train, having suffered a blow in the midweek win against Chelsea. Alexis Mac Allister, who suffered a knock to the knee in the same game, is also fit and could be in contention for a starting role.
The training session at the AXA Training Centre showcased a positive atmosphere, with players engaged in gym work before moving to the training pitches. Pepijn Lijnders and Andreas Kornmayer led the players through drills, including rondos, in separate groups.
The 25-man squad included Alisson, Kelleher, Adrian, and youngster Fabian Mrozek in the goalkeeping department. Defenders featured Van Dijk, Konate, Gomez, Quansah, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Tsimikas, and Bradley. Midfielders in the squad were Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Thiago, Gravenberch, Elliott, McConnell, and Clark. The forward options included Jota, Nunez, Diaz, Gakpo, and Gordon.
The limited list of absentees includes Mo Salah, Wataru Endo, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic, and Ben Doak, presenting Klopp with a strong squad for the crucial fixture against Arsenal.
