Spanish football publication Football Espana has reported that Manchester City and Barcelona are both interested in the same player at the same time.
The fact that Pep Guardiola was unable to get Declan Rice during the summer has prompted him to seek out further defensive midfielders to add to his roster. Nevertheless, Football Espana reports that Pep Guardiola is now interested in reuniting with Joshua Kimmich, who is now playing for Bayern Munich. A decision will be made over whether or not to concentrate on Kimmich throughout the summer by the team that won the Champions League last year.
Also, Barcelona has been said to be interested in Kimmich for a long time, but the purchase deal was unsuccessful because the Catalan team was experiencing financial difficulties.
Kimmich is in the sights of Man City and Barca.
There is a possibility that both teams may be able to acquire the German superstar on a free transfer after the 28-year-old’s contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2025. After making 53 appearances for RB Leipzig, Kimmich signed with Die Roten in 2015 and has contributed to the team’s success by scoring 26 goals in 248 outings.
An further Bayern star who is expected to quit the club is Alphonso Davies, a left back from Canada. It was reported during the end of the previous year that Real Madrid is optimistic that Davies will join the club during the summer of 2019. The price is anticipated to fall somewhere in the range of £34 million to £44 million.
