The photographs that Antonela Roccuzzo, his wife and the woman he has been in love with since childhood, recently posted to social media show her husband, who will soon be playing for Inter Miami, basking in the sun on a beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

 

Messi, 36, was also spotted on a motorboat with Antonella; no doubt Miami co-owner David Beckham is hoping he doesn’t get too wild during his vacation.

Messi is on his way to Miami to begin the next chapter of his illustrious career in Major League Soccer.

He is expected to sign a two-and-a-half year contract with Miami, with an option for another season, and will earn between $50 and $60 million a year.

The 36-year-old Messi is currently getting some rest in preparation for his move to the MLS outfit Inter Miami later this season.

Messi and Roccuzzo have been together since they were children and are the parents of three children.

The Major League Soccer (MLS) went above and beyond to get Lionel Messi to the United States. In exchange for Messi joining the league, adidas agreed to pay him a commission on shirt sales, and Apple agreed to give him a portion of MLS subscriptions sold.

Messi also mentioned that he and his family will benefit from the move, given that they already own a home in Miami at this time. They are his three boys with Antonella and their names are Mateo, Thiago, and Ciro.

The champion of the World Cup will be joined by two other famous athletes that he is familiar with due to their shared illustrious careers.

Even though the announcement was made on Instagram and not Miami’s official website, the famous Barcelona star Sergio Busquets has already been signed by Miami.

And defender Jordi Alba, who left Barcelona alongside Busquets when his contract expired this summer, is close to finalizing a move to Miami and is expected to do so as soon as Friday.

These three eye-catching signings will have a huge impact on the Major League Soccer’s status not only in the United States but also in other countries.

And Miami simply cannot wait any longer for them to arrive. The team now sits in last place in the MLS Eastern Conference and is nine points away from qualifying for the playoffs.

After being introduced to the Miami faithful at the club’s stadium on July 16, Messi is expected to make his debut for the club in a match against Cruz Azul on July 21.
