Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo reacted not really beautifully after hearing Lionel Messi chants from Al Shabab fans at Al-Shabab Club (Riyadh).

In the early morning of February 26, Al Nassr had a difficult away trip to Al Shabab’s field, within the framework of round 21 of Saudi Pro League 2023/24.

Ronaldo gave Al Nassr a 1-0 lead on the penalty spot in the 21st minute after Sadio Mane was fouled in the penalty area. Thus, CR7 has just scored the 8th consecutive match for Al Nassr. This goal brought the Portuguese superstar’s total career scoring record to 877.

This goal also increased CR7’s total scoring record in the Saudi Pro League 2023/24 to 22. Ronaldo still holds the title of “Top Scorer” of the tournament. However, Aleksandar Mitrovic of Al Hilal pursued very fiercely. The Serbian striker has 19 goals and has not appeared in round 21.

But the most notable thing that Ronaldo did in this match was also when celebrating the goal. The Portuguese superstar celebrated in the familiar “Siuuu” style, before home team fans chanted Lionel Messi’s nаme. This caused Ronaldo to create a rather strange reaction, when the 38-year-old player cupped his hand to his ear and then moved his hand to his groin. Of course, Al Shabab fans are also upset with CR7 himself.

Ronaldo has been constantly provoked and ridiculed by the nаme Lionel Messi in recent months. During the match against Al Hilal in the Riyadh Season Cup, he blew a kiss to the crowd in response to chants of Messi’s nаme as his team lost 3-0 and caused outrage after rubbing Al Hilal’s towel on groin before throwing it back into the stands.  

In the end, Al Nassr won 3-2 against Al Shabab . With this result, Al Nassr is currently only 4 points behind the top team, Al Hilal, but has played 1 more match than the opponent. 

Al Nassr’s next match will be welcoming Al Hazm at home on March 1, before playing away to Al Ain in the quarterfinals of the 2023/24 AFC Champions League.
