La Gazzetta dello Sport quoted the former Polish striker about his business experience.
Former striker of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Arsenal, Lukas Podolski, opened a famous kebab chain in Germany and shared that it brought in higher profits than the contracts he signed at the peak of his career.
The 38-year-old striker is still on the payroll of Polish team Gornik Zabrze but is also pursuing a business. In 2018, he opened a Kebab chain called Mangal Doener with a partner he met in Koln and now owns 40 restaurants across Germany.
Podolski’s business prospered.
The 2014 World Cup winner sat down for an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday to share how he is growing his business and his plans for the future.
“ I live in Poland but whenever I come back to Germany I always go to my restaurant. If you want to be successful in any area of life, you must put your mind first. Sometimes I can help in the kitchen even when I’m usually busy with emails and calls. Managing a business takes a lot of time ,” he said.
When asked if his new business will bring in more money than the contracts he signed at the peak of his career, Podolski replied: “ Well, if we look at the numbers… Yeah, you could sаy that .”
