Kevin De Bruyne received a great deal of appreciation from Manchester City’s midfielder Mateo Kovacic following the club’s victory over Luton Town by a score of 6-2 in the early morning hours of February 28.
The Citizens were victorious over Luton in the fifth round of the FA Cup, which took place at Kenilworth Road on the early hours of February 28 this year. Erling Haaland scored the first goal for Manchester City in the third minute, and then he doubled the team’s lead in the 18th minute. In the forty-first minute, he finished off his hat trick, and in the forty-fifth minute, Jordan Clark scored the equalizer.
Clark then brought the score down to 2-3 in the 52nd minute, but Haaland scored two goals in the 55th and 58th minutes to collect five goals for himself. Clark’s goal brought the score to 2-3. Following that, Kovacic scored in the 72nd minute to round off the victory with a score of 6-2.
It is important to note that De Bruyne assisted on four of Haaland’s five goals. Throughout the course of the current season, the midfielder has been an amazing player for Manchester City, contributing 11 assists in just 12 appearances across all competitions. Following the game, Kovacic heaped praise on the Belgian midfielder, stating that he was deserving of the Golden Ball award. He said, “Kevin’s career has been wonderful; a player who deserves the Golden Ball.”

Since making the move from VfB Wolfsburg to Manchester City in 2015, De Bruyne has been an outstanding player for the club. Through his 98 goals and 165 assists, he has contributed to the team’s success in winning a number of titles, including five Premier League crowns, one UEFA Champions League trophy, and many others.
During this time, Manchester City is working hard to maintain its position as the treble holders. The first squad coached by Pep Guardiola has advanced to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. Even though they are only one point behind Liverpool, they are currently ranked second in the Premier League rankings.
Following the first leg of their play against FC Copenhagen in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, Manchester City has also taken a 3-1 lead in the contest.
