In light of the fact that we are getting closer to the end of the campaign, Barcelona is under a great deal of pressure to come to a decision regarding the future of Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix.
The two players are now on loan at Barcelona until the conclusion of the current season. On the other hand, despite the fact that the club is eager to keep both of the stars on its roster, they have not yet made any headway in this regard.
A permanent contract for Cancelo is now being considered by the Catalans. In regard to Felix, the boundaries are not clear. In spite of the fact that the club is prepared to prolong Felix’s loan arrangement, the club may have difficulty negotiating with Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona unlikely to chase permanent deal for Felix
In light of this, Gerard Romero, a writer located in Barcelona, has provided an update regarding the future of Joao Felix.
Romero gives the impression that Barcelona is not particularly interested in pursuing a permanent deal for the Portuguese international player during the summer in question.
In light of this, it is quite improbable that Barcelona will investigate the possibility of a permanent contract with Felix if they are unsuccessful in their efforts to prolong his loan at Camp Nou.

This is hardly surprising as Barcelona are not in a position to afford a permanent deal for Felix, who could cost well over €50 million mark. Most importantly, the player has not been consistent enough to earn a permanent move to Camp Nou.
Joao Felix’s inconsistencies this season
Felix has had a difficult time establishing himself as an impact player at Barcelona, despite the fact that he got off to a strong start in the season.
Over the course of twenty league matches, the Portuguese international has only managed to score five goals. Of those five goals, just two have been scored since the beginning of the year, and the attacker has been notable for suffering from a brief injured spell during this time.
Furthermore, Felix’s form has been highly inconsistent, which creates additional concerns regarding his utility to the team. This is in addition to the fact that he has not been productive.
As a result, Barcelona might be making the smart choice to forego the pursuit of a permanent deal for the former Chelsea sensation. As for the Catalans, there is little doubt that they are considering making Cancelo a permanent member of their roster.
In point of fact, the future of these two Portuguese internationals is likely to be a topic of discussion during the recent meeting that Joan Laporta had with Jorge Mendes, who is a superagent.
