Many Barcelona players, like Joao Cancelo, have uncertain futures ahead of them, particularly since his loan deal expires at the end of the current campaign. 

 Barcelona is eager to keep the Portuguese international on staff as he has been a huge popular at Camp Nou this year.

A new report on Cancelo’s future was provided by Matteo Moretto, who seems to be sure that Barcelona will hang onto the right-back.

 According to the article, Barça want to keep the former Juventus player on staff, as his presence has greatly enhanced the team’s build-up play this year.

The Catalans, in fact, are counting Cancelo as part of the club’s next season’s roster, even though coach Xavi Hernandez is all set to leave the club at the end of the campaign.

No negotiations so far

Barcelona and Manchester City need to have a challenging round of negotiations if they want to extend Cancelo’s tenure at Camp Nou.

According to Moretto, Barcelona and Man City have not yet begun talks. 

However, as the Blaugrana aim to make the initial move in their attempt to hold onto Cancelo, the negotiations may soon begin.

The team intends to sign the right-back for a fair price of between €25 and €30 million, but it is unclear if Man City will accept that offer.

Cancelo’s resolve to stay at Camp Nou and the fact that Man City does not view the Portuguese international as a component of the team’s long-term goals are two reasons that work in favor of Barcelona.
