The 17-year-old midfielder expressed his thoughts after Barcelona’s 1-0 victory over Mallorca

Following Barcelona’s 1-0 victory over Mallorca, the 17-year-old midfield player shared his thoughts. At Nou Camp, the home squad picked up three crucial points (per MARCA).

Barcelona will host Mallorca at Olimpic Lluis Companys Stadium in their opening La Liga game of round 28. The game ended with Xavi Hernandez’s squad winning 1-0 because of a single goal by Lamine Yamal.

In addition to Yamal, Pau Cubarsi is another young Barcelona player who is garnering a lot of interest. Xavi Hernandez started the game with the 17-year-old sensation in the starting lineup as a central defender.

Pau Cubarsi responded to Xavi’s faith with a compelling ninety-minute performance. Pau Cubarsi’s post-match statement was cited by the MARCA newspaper:

The time constraint that Bronny James was subject to meant that he could only play for a total of twenty minutes of basketball, during which he could not commit more than two thefts, six rebounds, or five points. In his previous appearance, which lasted for sixteen minutes and was played against the Sun Devils, he did not score. This was a slight improvement over that performance.

In the one and only thirty-minute game that Bronny participated in, which was played against the Wildcats, he registered eleven points and six rebounds. The medical emergency that occurred during the summer of last year, in which Bronny was diagnosed with a congenital cardiac abnormality, is the cause of the time limitation that he is currently experiencing. On the 10th of December, the guard made his return after being out for a period of four months.

In his first year of college basketball, Bronny James played 19.2 minutes per game on average, producing 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists along the way. His numbers, which are below average, have provoked extensive criticism on the internet, with many people believing that he is not prepared to play in the NBA.

James, on the other hand, was eliminated from the 2024 ESPN mock draft as a consequence of his disappointing performance. In spite of the fact that his name is included in the simulated draft for the year 2025, it is still placed in the second round.

Specifically, Rich Paul, Bronny’s attorney, made it clear that his NBA possibilities are not determined by draft stock but rather by the interest of the franchise. In the meantime, James is continuing to give his utmost effort to the team he plays for at the university level.
