Future Barcelona legend’s touching tribute to Lionel Messi goes viral: ‘Idol’ remembers the icon

Lamine Yamal, a young man from Barcelona, pays tribute to Lionel Messi, his sporting hero, on X (which was once known as Twitter).

The forward, who is only 16 years old and is having a breakthrough season with the Catalan club, shared two photographs with the online community. In the first picture, a young Yamal can be seen smiling alongside Messi, while in the second picture, the Blaugrana player can be seen wearing the uniform of Argentina’s best player, who is 36 years old.

He wrote the following in the caption, which was accompanied by a blue heart:

The phrase “Idolo!”

As a result of Yamal’s impressive performance in his brief career thus far, many people have drawn analogies between the youngster and Messi. However, Yamal’s career is still very young. On the other hand, the young person stated in a recent interview (performed by Mundo Deportivo):

“That is a comparison I leave to the others, but there will never be another player like Leo Messi,” the player said.

The Argentina national team captain had a remarkable career at Barcelona, where he played in 778 games across all competitions and contributed 303 assists to his total of 672 goals scored between the two clubs. The UEFA Champions League was won by him three times during his time at Camp Nou, while he won La Liga ten times during his time there.

Aside from all of that, Messi has won the Ballon d’Or eight times and captained Argentina to victory in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Throughout the competition, he assisted on three goals and scored seven goals.

As a result of Lionel Messi’s decision to withdraw from the Argentina squad during the current international break, he has been observed working out with Inter Miami. The Argentina national team has announced that Lionel Messi will not be participating in the friendly against Costa Rica on March 26 and El Salvador on March 22 due to an injury that he sustained.

The good thing for those who support Herons is that they are able to observe the former Barcelona star strolling up and down as he is practicing. During his reporting on the matter, journalist Franco Panizo posted recordings of Messi on his X account where he was using his account.

It is currently unknown when the great player will return to the Inter Miami roster for another game. Following the injury that he sustained in the team’s previous victory over Nashville, which was a 3-1 victory on March 13, he was unable to take part in the team’s most recent victory, which was against DC United when it was on March 16.

Considering that Messi has already made an impact on the Florida team this season with five goals and two assists in five games, his return will be essential. The Herons are now tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with Columbus, despite Columbus having played one fewer game.
