Marca reported that the day after his release, Alves invited family and friends to his home to party. The former Juventus star’s “dancing and entertainment” lasted until 5 am.
Alves was convicted in February, when a Barcelona court judge sentenced the player to four and a half years in prison. After paying 1 million euros in bail, the 40-year-old defender is in the process of appealing the sentence, and will continue to be under government supervision at his home.
Alves must also appear in court once a week to maintain his right to bail. His Spanish and Brazilian passports were confiscated. However, that didn’t stop Alves from enjoying life after leaving prison.
Things are getting better for Alves now. Alves’ lawyer, Ines Guardiola, shared with AS that the player has won four tax cases with the Spanish government. He is preparing to receive a tax refund of up to 9.2 million euros.
Previously, there was news that Memphis Depay paid a guarantee of 1 million euros to the Barcelona court to help Alves bail. However, the Dutch player’s representative later denied the rumors. Despite being involved in a lawsuit with his ex-wife Dinorah Santana over child support last year, Alves is still very rich.
Alves is accused of sexually assaulting a young woman at a nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022. The 23-year-old victim reported that the Brazilian star sexually assaulted her in a private bathroom at Sutton nightclub (Barcelona, Spain).
Three weeks later, Alves was detained to serve the investigation process. On February 22, Alves was sentenced and had to pay 150,000 euros ( 162,990 USԀ ) in compensation to the victim.
