Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister Lauds Teammate Cody Gakpo Amidst Criticism

Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister has showered praise on his teammate Cody Gakpo for his dedication and influence, amidst recent critiques over performances. 

The commendation follows Liverpool’s 3-1 victory against Sheffield United at Anfield, maintaining their position atop the Premier League table.

Despite commanding 83% possession, Liverpool faltered to capitalize on their 1-0 lead, conceding an equalizer in the 58th minute. 

Manager Jurgen Klopp’s strategic substitutions, including the introduction of Gakpo, proved pivotal in securing the win, with the Dutch international netting the decisive third goal.

Gakpo, 24, showcased relentless effort and posed a constant threat to Sheffield’s defense, earning redemption following prior criticism, notably after the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.
