Bayern Munich considered appointing former Man Utd coach who was teacher of Klopp and Tuchel after being rejected by Xabi Alonso

That is information just shared in the Mirror newspaper (UK) today, April 23. Bayern Munich has identified former Manchester United interim coach Ralf Rangnick as the person to replace the coaching position left by Thomas Tuchel, after the “German gray tiger” was rejected by Xabi Alonso, Mirror said.

According to reports, Ralf Rangnick is in prime position to become the next coach of Bayern Munich. The German football giants are looking for a new manager with Thomas Tuchel set to leave at the end of the season.

The Bavarian team lost the Bundesliga crown for the first time in 11 years to coach Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen. The leadership at Allianz Arena is determined to bring Bayern Munich back to the top position in German football.

Ralf Rangnick is highly regarded in his native Germany, with his pioneering football philosophies spreading across the country. Ralf Rangnick had a difficult time leading Manchester United, but TZ newspaper affirmed that Rangnick is the biggest candidate to be the head coach of Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich has kept an eye on coach Xabi Alonso, who just led Bayer Leverkusen to the Bundesliga championship, but this Spanish strategist announced that he will continue to stay at Bayer Leverkusen next season.

Julian Nagelsmann was sacked by Bayern Munich before they appointed Tuchel. Now, Bayern Munich is considering bringing Nagelsmann back, but he is currently still serving as Germany coach and preparing for the Euro 2024 finals at home.

It forced Bayern Munich to look for new candidates and Ralf Rangnick became the leader. Ralf Rangnick is currently leading the Austrian team preparing to attend the Euro 2024 finals this summer in his home country of Germany.

Recently, Ralf Rangnick shared: “I still have a contract with the Austrian team until 2026 and our goals and path will continue after the Euro.” However, Rangnick can still go to Bayern Munich if he is invited.

Ralf Rangnick succeeded Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in December 2021 as interim coach at Manchester United but only won 11 out of 29 matches, achieving a win rate of only 40%. Rangnick gave a damning assessment of the Old Trafford team before leaving.

Roberto De Zerbi is another man on Bayern Munich’s radar. The Brighton boss is expected to take a job at one of Europe’s big clubs and Liverpool are also keen as they search for a replacement for Jurgen Klopp.

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has compiled a relatively small shortlist and wants to make a decision on the new coach soon. “We want to do it as quickly as possible but also as thoroughly as possible,” Max Eberl said over the weekend.

Thomas Tuchel can still leave Bayern Munich as European champion after taking the “grey tiger” to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Bayern Munich will face Real Madrid in the last four. If they win against Real Madrid, Bayern Munich will play the Champions League final at the end of May against PSG or Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium, where they lifted Europe’s most prestigious silver trophy at the club level in 2013.
