Klopp Makes Six Changes as Reds Prepare for 244th Merseyside Derby Clash
In the highly anticipated 244th Merseyside derby at Goodison Park tonight, Liverpool fans brace for a crucial match without the presence of No.18, among other significant lineup adjustments orchestrated by Manager Klopp.
Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports ahead of the showdown, Klopp explained, “The changes are not only to keep things fresh; two of them are not available tonight.”
“Diogo [Jota] is injured, and Cody probably has the best excuse of all! Timing is not great, but much more important, right now they [Gakpo and his partner] are expecting a baby; now, maybe!”
“So, these are two changes we had to make. And then [in] midfield [it] makes sense, the boys played together before. We need fresh legs today as much as we can. Ibou coming back, I don’t know who else, I don’t think it’s too many besides that.”
“We meet a good team, we have a good team and now we have to play good football,” Klopp concluded confidently.
