Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League were further damaged Friday night after they drew 2-2 with West Ham United in the league. Their lackluster performance further hurt their chances of competing for the crown.

Cody Gakpo, who played the entire 90 minutes, spoke on the team’s attitude following the loss.

It is evident that the outcome is not what we had hoped for. The three points are why we came here,” he remarked.

“I believe we performed well in the game. We dominated the game in the first half until we gave up. We simply needed to maintain our composure, hold onto the ball, and avoid conceding after we scored two goals. 

We are aware that it will be tough to come back. However, we did, and the outcome is not what we had hoped for.

Following a goal conceded near the conclusion of the first half, Andy Robertson’s goal for Liverpool in the 48th minute saw them tie the score.

We simply had to take a chance. We’ve certainly recovered from a goal down quite a few times already this season, I believe. That was the takeaway, then: just go for it and give it your all. I believe we did, but it was regrettable that we gave in once more, Gakpo continued.
