Top of the Klopps! Jurgen Klopp Celebrates Liverpool Farewell with On-Stage Dance, Rapping John Barnes, and City Centre Stroll with Drink in Hand

The former Reds manager concluded his nine-year tenure with a victory over Wolves at Anfield, thanks to goals from Jarell Quansah and Alexis Mac Allister in the first half.

Following the sound of the full-time whistle, Klopp stood in front of the home crowd to express his gratitude for their steadfast support of the team during his tenure.

Later that night, the German was seen enjoying a last night out with his players and staff as he strolled around the city center while holding a drink in his hand.

While out and about, the 56-year-old was seen dancing the night away in a nightclub with legendary Liverpool winger Barnes, who was performing The Sugarhill Gang’s Rappers Delight.

The X account Kloppholic (@Kloppholic) shared a video of this performance on social media with the description, “My manager.”

Star players under Klopp’s leadership, such as Dominik Szoboszlai, Darwin Núñez, and Virgil van Dijk, were spotted arriving at the Titanic Hotel to start the evening festivities.

At his first Liverpool press conference, Klopp famously referred to himself as “the normal one.” The team has won seven major titles, including the Premier League and the Champions League, as he departs Anfield.

After a trophy-filled career, he had earlier expressed his gratitude to be leaving the club in a strong position. After his farewell game, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold could not contain their emotions as they embraced their manager.

‘I’m utterly astonished, I thought I’m already in pieces, to be honest, but I’m not,’ Klopp said in an emotional farewell speech to the supporters on Sunday. I’m ecstatic beyond belief.

I’m overjoyed about everything—you guys, the vibe, the game, being a member of this family, and our celebration of this day. It truly is amazing. I really appreciate it.

To be honest, it doesn’t feel like the end for whatever reason. I watched a football team play today that was full of youth, talent, inventiveness, ambition, and grit, so it felt like just the beginning.

That’s a necessary component of development, but during the past several weeks, I’ve received far too much attention. It’s uncomfortable, but throughout this period, I’ve learned a lot.

It’s untrue that I converted people from doubts to believers, as some have claimed. You must actively work to believe; it is not something you just do. You did what I said we had to do. It’s a significant distinction.

I would have to ask Kenny (Dalglish): “And who tells you, nobody tells you now to stop believing, because this club is in a better moment than, not ever, maybe ever.” Most likely never…In other words, let me put it that way: a long time ago.

“Wow, we have this amazing stadium, this amazing training facility, and you, the global football superpower.”

We determine whether they are anxious or joyful. We make the decision as to whether or not we believe. We make the decision to trust or not trust.

I continue to believe in you because I am now one of you. I continue to be a believer without reservation.

He started singing the name of his Dutch successor, Arne Slot, throughout that speech. Last Monday, Arne Slot announced he would be taking over after Liverpool and his current employers, Feyenoord, agreed on a compensation deal that might reach £9.42 million.

Then, as he accepted the praise from the supporters, Klopp gave the Kop his signature fist bump.

Playing all of his senior club football under Klopp, Alexander-Arnold was also observed crying as his teammates looked on.

Following the game, Klopp gives his team an emotional farewell speech and makes his final presentation to them.

I love you, that’s all I can say, he said in a video that surfaced on Liverpool’s official X account.

Andy Robertson, Joe Gomez and Dominik Szoboszlai were just some of the big name players seen celebrating with Klopp last night

“You can play football, which is completely absurd.” Observing you grow and take the next steps excites me. Third place goes to us. I have no idea who made it to the championships yet.

You’re free to repeat that. You heard me this morning. Some people may tell you, “That’s not enough,” but trust me when I say they have no idea what football is all about. In a split second, might we have done better? That is always conceivable, of course.

Did we, however, perform better than you may have expected? Yes, as it takes longer to regain your position as a top team, and you accomplished that in this manner (clicks fingers).

My expectations then skyrocketed, and we were unable to maintain the pace. That is partially the issue.

“Guys, we finished third in the first season with Liverpool 2.0. Moving forward, we’ll have new external energy, influences, and push, and we’ll prove ourselves, which is good for making the most of your career.”

All I want to say is that I adore you. It was simply amazing. I appreciate the ride, and I’m incredibly happy of you and honored to have been included in this. Thank you so much, and for you guys, the possibilities are endless.

In addition, Klopp disclosed his intentions to withdraw into a private life after leaving the Premier League team.

Virgil van Dijk was in tears as he hugged Klopp on the pitch after his final match at the club

‘A private life must be organized and I didn’t plan anything yet because I was here,’ he told reporters during his most recent post-match press conference.

“I happily follow, but Ulla (Sandrock, his wife) will probably keep me informed about our whereabouts.”

I’m not sure why exactly no one thinks that I probably won’t be a manager again, but I get it—it seems like a drug, since everyone returns and works until they’re in their seventies or eighties.

“I have to be all in, I have to be the spark, I have to be the energy, I have to be all these kinds of things, and I’m empty. Other people can do it in different ways.”

All you need to do is glance outside at the clubs that are clearly open. I don’t sit here and think, “Maybe in a year’s time I take that.” Opportunities will present themselves.
