Conor Coady shares why he thinks Trent Alexander-Arnold still hasn't signed a new contract at Liverpool

Alexander-Arnold, who is still only 25 years old, should have a significant role in Liverpool’s future. His future is still up for speculation, given his connections to Real Madrid and a contract situation that is sure to unnerve a lot of supporters.

Alexander-Arnold’s emotional response during Klopp’s goodbye on Sunday would not have calmed those anxieties. Conor Coady, an England player and former Liverpool academy prospect, thinks the German’s exit might have contributed to the delay in signing a new contract.

Coady said to BBC’s Monday Night Club, “I think him knowing that Jürgen Klopp was leaving and how close he was to Jürgen Klopp.”

“He might be considering the season and asking questions like, ‘How have we started, how are we playing, how much have things changed, are we going to be playing catch-up to teams quite early, and that might be a reason on the contract situation?'” are my thoughts.
