According to sources from Marca newspaper, Man City is considering efforts to entice talented Brazilian striker Rodrygo to leave the Spanish capital this summer.
There has been speculation that Rodrygo could leave to make way for Mbappe who is confirmed to be on a permanent transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Madrid.
Rodrygo recently confirmed that he does not want to leave Madrid, but everyth\ing depends on his position in the White Vulture shirt.
Rodrygo said: “Of course, I want to stay here for many years. I want to stay here as long as I feel I am useful and important to the team. And when I feel I am no longer important, maybe come when I had to find another place.”
Real Madrid may not be concerned about the 23-year-old’s future at this time as Rodrygo signed a contract extension with Madrid in November, extending until 2028 with a release clause of up to 1 billion Euros.
Rodrygo is still an important player for Ancelotti’s army. The Selecao star scored 17 goals in 50 matches to help Real Madrid win another La Liga title as well as contribute greatly to the victory in reaching the 2024/25 Champions League final. .
Rodrygo’s future is still a topic of discussion in the near future, Man City is certainly a great destination for Rodrygo to consider. However, if Rodrygo leaves, Man City will likely face a lot of competition when other big men, typically Man United, may jump into the race.
The 2024 summer transfer period will start around mid-June, Real Madrid is one of the busiest teams on the market, not only Mbappe, Real Madrid also targets many quality names to complete the Galacticos 3.0 system in 2024/25 season.
