AFTER DE JONG: Blow for Barcelona Lewandowski picks muscle injury in international duty

Barcelona struggled before the European Championship.

Frenkie de Jong missed the match due to injury, and now Robert Lewandowski has too.

According to SPORT, Lewandowski left a friendly encounter between Poland and Turkey due to a muscular issue.

The Barcelona attacker was injured in the 32nd minute and went down on the field before being replaced by Kacper Urbanski.

He was hurt when he moved quickly into open space and felt a searing ache. Despite appearing anxious, the Barcelona player left the field alone.

Poland plays the Netherlands in their first European Championship encounter six days away, which is problematic.

Worrying sign? Maybe

Before leaving the game, Lewandowski helped his teammate score the opening goal, making the score 1-0.

Polish television commentators say Lewandowski left the game to avoid the injury from worsening.

Polish medics will check Lewandowski to determine the severity of his injuries.

Poland play the Netherlands in their first Euro 2024 match in a few days. He may heal from a slight injury like a blow swelling.

Depending on the severity, he may miss Poland’s group stage matches.

Throughout his career, Lewandowski has been healthy. However, he had an ankle ailment for about a month earlier this season.
