On June 12, midfielder Aleksander Pavlovic was confirmed to miss the Euro 2024 finals due to health problems. Coach Julian Nagelsmann decided to call Emre Can to replace him.
Euro 2024 competition format
Similar to Euro 2020, the 2024 tournament will have 24 countries competing, divided into 6 groups. Teams compete in a round robin, the top 2 teams in each group and 4/6 third teams with the best records will qualify for the knockout round.
