Fans tried to decipher what Cristiano Ronaldo said before taking the free kιck in the match against the Czech Republic.
Francisco Conceicao scored the decisive goal in the 92nd minute, giving Portugal an important 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic in the opening match of Group F. This victory marked a memorable milestone in his career. Cristiano Ronaldo, as he became the first player to participate in six consecutive Euros, since the first in 2004.
At the age of 39, Ronaldo is still an important factor in the Portuguese team and is always a constant threаt in front of the opponent’s goal. In the match against the Czech Republic, Ronaldo had a chance to score from a direct free kιck, but failed.

The moment he was about to take the free kιck was recorded by fans and widely shared on social networks. A group of fans tried to read Ronaldo’s lips as he prepared to take a free kιck and theorized that he said “Vais marcar”, Portuguese for “You are about to score”.
However, some others believe that Ronaldo said “Bismillah” , an Arabic phrase often used by Muslims before starting something, meaning “In the nаme of God” . However, this hypothesis is less likely because Ronaldo is known to be a Christian.

After the match, coach Ivan Hasek of the Czech Republic team gave special praise to Cristiano Ronaldo, calling him a “genius”:
“It’s unbelievable that a player like Cristiano Ronaldo is still so dangerous at his age. Ronaldo has shown his natural talent again and knows how to take advantage of opportunities. I really admire him; he is one of the greatest players in the history of football.”
