There are two players on the radar of the blue half of Manchester in this summer’s transfer window.
According to the British press, coach Pep Guardiola plans to spend 100 million pounds to recruit two players, Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich) and Dani Olmo (Red Bull Leipzig).
Kimmich has one year left on his contract with Bayern Munich. Manager Vincent Kompany hopes to extend the contract with the player. However, the Allianz Arena team is said to be willing to let the 29-year-old leave for £40 million rather than lose him for free next year.
Kimmich himself also wants to play in midfield rather than right-back – the position he has played most of his career. Man City can completely satisfy the German player’s wishes.
At Man City, the right-back position is held by Kyle Walker. Meanwhile, coach Guardiola is very “cool” in rotating the positions of the players, such as Joao Cancelo, who was once moved from defender to midfield by the Spanish coach.
Kimmich’s presence at the Etihad Stadium is also expected to provide much-needed competition for Walker. In addition to Man City, the 1995-born player is also a target for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The other name is Dani Olmo – the player who is competing at EURO 2024 with the Spanish team. Man City approached this player last year but did not reach any agreement.
However, Man City are believed to be able to recruit Olmo. The fee for this player is expected to be around 60 million pounds, less than half the price of another target of the club, Bruno Guimares (currently playing for Newcastle).
