THE most expensive new car ever is a £12million Bugatti La Voiture Noire owned by Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Bugatti La Voiture Noire, which cost about £12million at the time, was the most expensive new car when it was introduced in 2019.

But it was dethroned by the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail in 2021.

Bugatti took inspiration from the Type 57 SC Atlantic in designing the La Voiture Noire.

The car firm said: “The creation of ‘La Voiture Noire’ is far more than a modern interpretation of the ghost of the Gran Turismo.

La Voiture Noire’ is a tribute to Bugatti’s own history, a manifesto of the Bugatti aesthetic and a piece of automotive haute couture.”

The noticeable updates begin at the front end, where there is distinctive bodywork with new LED headlights and a bonnet with several tiny holes.

And the most striking area of the La Voiture Noire is its rear.

The bumpers of the car are hardly noticeable as they are integrated into the car’s design.

It has an 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine like the Chiron, pumping out 1,479 hp and 1,180 lb-ft (1,600 Nm) of torque.

The supercar can reach 60mph in just three seconds.

And the carbon fibre body was made with the uttermost care by hand, which is easy to spot from the way the materials merge into harmony.

The black car was finished in deep black gross with only a pinch of chrome to break the dark.

On his 35th birthday, the Portuguese football player bought The Bugatti La Voiture Noire, Sportmanors reports.

Ronaldo shared a picture on Instagram with the supercar.

He also pointed out the initials “CR7” on the car, which are his own initials.
