Barcelona have made an official offer of β¬60 million for RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo, marking a major step forward in the Blaugrana’s summer transfer plans.
Barcelona are showing strong determination to strengthen their squad for the new season, having just made an official offer forΒ Euro 2024 top scorer – Dani OlmoΒ of RB Leipzig.
This information was revealed by Mundo Deportivo, confirming that the Catalan team is willing to spend a large sum of money to get the signature of the 26-year-old Spanish player.
Barcelona have reportedly offered Olmo a six-year contract, with the club reportedly ready to trigger the player’s β¬60 million release clause.

Barcelona could pay the sum in one lump sum or in instalments, depending on the final agreement with RB Leipzig.
The timing of the offer is considered quite reasonable, as Olmo’s contract release clause is about to expire. However, Barcelona hope to convince RB Leipzig to extend the deal by a few more weeks to complete the deal.
For his part, Dani Olmo is carefully considering this offer. The player born in 1998 has expressed his desire to return to Barcelona, ββwhere he spent 7 years in the La Masia training academy before moving to Dinamo Zagreb in 2014. Recently, Olmo also admitted to having discussed his future plans with his agent.
The contract structure proposed by Barcelona is quite interesting. Olmo will receive a reduced salary for the first two seasons to meet La Liga’s financial regulations.

From the third year onwards, his salary will increase, bringing him in line with top stars like Robert Lewandowski and Nico Williams.
However, Barcelona are not the only team interested in Olmo. Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are also closely monitoring the player’s situation.
Olmo’s impressive performance at Euro 2024 – where he became a hero and contributed greatly to Spain’s championship and the Golden Boot – has further increased his value. This also explains why Barcelona is willing to spend a large sum of money to get the midfielder’s signature.
To fund the Olmo deal, Barcelona may have to sell some players. It is reported that the club are considering selling an “important” player, although it is not clear who that is.

Some sources have mentioned names like Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde and Frenkie de Jong, while others have even mentioned big stars like Pedri or Ilkay Gundogan.
With his talent and potential, Olmo could become an important piece in Barcelona’s squad in the future. However, to complete this deal, the Catalan club will have to compete with many strong opponents and may have to make difficult financial decisions.
The coming days will certainly be crucial for the future of both Dani Olmo and Barcelona.
