Barca’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, recently attracted attention when he wore his idol’s shirt during his summer vacation after winning the Euro 2024 championship with the Spanish national team.

On his personal page, Lamine Yamal excitedly showed off the number 11 jersey of his senior Neymar at Santos Club. Although this young player always shows admiration for Leo Messi, his real idol is Neymar.

During his vacation in Greece after winning Euro 2024 with Spain, Lamine Yamal was seen wearing the Brazilian striker’s historic jersey. Immediately after, Neymar himself expressed his feelings for the photo by leaving a comment: “Awesome @lamineyamal”.

It is worth mentioning that Lamine Yamal wearing his idol’s shirt made Santos Club offer to recruit him.

Neymar scored over 100 goals for Santos between 2009 and 2013. His impressive performances helped the Brazilian team win many titles, including the 2011 Copa Libertadores, which caught the eye of many European giants and led to a sensational move to Barca.

It is known that Yamal and Neymar both follow each other on social media. This is said to have happened right after the Spanish striker wore the Samba superstar’s Santos shirt during his vacation.

Previously, both of them also praised each other, especially Neymar posted a clapping emoji when Yamal helped the Spanish team win the Euro 2024 championship.

The youngster has also revealed that Neymar is his idol. Yamal said:  “I always sаy that Messi is the best player in history for me, but the one I like to watch is Neymar. Neymar makes me want to watch the game; he makes me happy. It’s great to watch him play.”

At Euro 2024, Yamal repeatedly showed Neymar’s signature celebration, further confirming how much the Barca star loves his idol.
