Victor Wembanyama, a rising NBA sophomore, went viral after displaying his unrivalled size against Japan during the Paris Olympics.

The 20-year-old measures an impressive 7 feet 3 inches, making him nearly tough to guard in the NBA and now on the world scene.

On Tuesday, the Frenchmen faced Japan in their second group encounter. During the match, the San Antonio Spurs’ franchise player had a noticeable height advantage over the rivals.

One photograph shows Wembanyama placing a screen over Japan’s Yuki Kawamura, who stands 5ft 8in. Kawamura’s head was several inches below the 2023 NBA No. 1 overall pick’s shoulder when they made contact.

While they barely scraped past Japan, 94-90, France moved to a 2-0 record in the Olympics

Wembanyama led the way for the hosts, scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. He achieved these stats by shooting 6-for-13 from the field and 3-for-5 from three-point range.

Matthew Strazel, Evan Fournier, and Guerschon Yabusele scored 17, 14, and 13 points, respectively.

Kawamura led Japan’s losing effort with 29 points, while Rui Hachimura added 24.

Japan is already down to 0-2 after losing to Germany on Saturday. Meanwhile, France has not lost a game since defeating Brazil on the opening day.

France will play Germany in their final group game on Friday, while Japan will face Brazil, who are also 0-2 in the competition.
