‘Drank beer and flew’ – NBA fans go crazy at Nikola Jokic’s self-alley oop and dunk during Goran Dragic’s farewell game

Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic took part in Slovenian icon Goran Dragic’s farewell game this weekend. Night of the Dragon featured a star-studded lineup of former and current players. During the first quarter of the game, Jokic wowed the crowd with an alley-oop off the glass.

The game took place following a black-tie affair on Friday night, where team captains Goran Dragic and Luka Doncic draughted their teams. Dragic selected Steve Nash as his first pick. Doncic answered by selecting Nikola Jokic, a player who NBA fans have been eager to see him play alongside.

With teams decided, players took to the floor on Saturday for the highly anticipated game, which streamed on NBA.com. While Team Luka led 4-2 early in the game, Jokic wasted little time driving to the hoop and attempting an alley-oop off the backboard.

Dragic retired from basketball in December after 16 seasons. Since then, the veteran guard has tried to prepare a memorable farewell for his admirers.

 

The outcome was “Night of the Dragon,” a two-night extravaganza at Slovenia’s Stozice Arena that featured Dragic and other well-known NBA players. Dragic brought in current players Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokcic, as well as NBA icons Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki.
