Along with his teenage son in tow, Tom Brady met one of the NBA’s most exciting players.
The retired NFL great, 46, accompanied 16-year-old John “Jack” Edward Thomas to meet San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, a 19-year-old French emerging star in the NBA, who was the league’s top draft pick.
In a photo posted on Brady’s Instagram Story on Tuesday, Wemby stands a full foot taller than the 6’4″ quarterback. Brady is followed closely by his adolescent son, who stands between the two and has been closing in on his father’s height over the last year.
“3 on 3 who’s got next?!” Brady captioned the photo.
Brady has two children: Vivian Lake, who turns 11 next month, and Benjamin, who will turn 14 in December. He shares Jack with his ex-Bridget Moynahan.
In his SiriusXM podcast Let’s Go, Brady discussed his retirement at the start of the NFL season, his first absence from the field. With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Grey, he revealed that he coped by playing football with his son Benny.
“I’m always gonna love throwing that ball,” Brady began. “My son is gonna play football this year, Benny, so I’ve been throwing the ball to him in the backyard.”
“And he wants to be a tight end like Gronk [Rob Gronkowski], and he’s gonna be a little beast. He’s an amazing kid and he’s got a lot of talents. He’s a really talented musician and artist.”
“And then he told me this year, ‘Dad, I’m playing football.’ And I was like, ‘What do you wanna play?’ And he was like, ‘Tight end. I wanna be like Gronk!’” the former NFL player said.
“So I actually texted Gronk and I’m like, ‘Yo, my boy wants to be like you!’ And he loved it,” Brady added.
