Zendaya was among the many celebrities that attended Williams’ second Open match on Wednesday, the night before her birthday, celebrating both her 26th birthday and the tennis player’s victory. Darnell Appling, the actress’s long-time assistant, and her mother, Claire Stoermer, accompanied her to Flushing, New York. The threesome was quite excited throughout the match, with Stoermer frequently jumping out of her seat and Zendaya cheering on Williams next to her.

Zendaya, as always, looked stunning in a black mock-neck jumper layered over a white flowery slip dress edged with lace. She wore the look with black calf-high boots and gold-rimmed spectacles in the stadium to better see the match.

Zendaya landed in New York on Tuesday from Hungary, where she had been filming Dune Part 2. According to the Daily Mail, the actress was accompanied by her boyfriend, Tom Holland, though it is unclear if he travelled with her to NYC for any birthday celebrations. Unfortunately, Zendaya’s landing in New York means she will most likely miss this year’s Venice Film Festival (although her Dune co-stars Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh are scheduled to attend). It makes sense because she doesn’t have a movie to promote, but it’s sad given the impact she made on the red carpet last year.
