Challengers may be a modern tale of sex and tennis, but that hasn’t prevented Zendaya from scouring the archives for on-theme press photos.

The actor has given us a press tour replete with sporting numbers and tennis ball colours. Her blockbuster parade, however, does not include only Erdem and bespoke Loewe. Her latest look will make vintage enthusiasts jealous, while also demonstrating that not every look needs to be overtly tennis-related.

Zendaya arrived to Zero Bond in New York City wearing a chartreuse ankle-length, empire-waisted silk chiffon dress. The belted, bias-cut slip was worn beneath a cropped, ruffled jacket tied with a pussybow. Zendaya, through her stylist Law Roach, most likely purchased the dress from Sweet Disorder Vintage, which claims the ensemble was preserved in good condition since the 1930s. She wore Gianvito Rossi open-toe shoes studded with green rhinestones that matched her dress.

The dress was first listed on Sweet Disorder’s Instagram in June 2023, so (presuming it’s the very same dress that Zendaya wore) it’s likely that Roach has been waiting for the perfect moment to break it out. We can’t think of anything better for the final hour of the Challengers press trip. But with one day still on the clock, we’re confident he and Zendaya will deliver a grand slam with whatever comes next.
