The Denver Nuggets did not advance beyond the second round of the playoffs after the 2023-24 season, but they have high expectations for 2024-25.
Nikola Jokic, a three-time NBA MVP, is returning to the Nuggets and will undoubtedly continue to lead the team to new heights. Before the Colorado Avalanche’s home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday, Jokic and Nathan MacKinnon, the 2023-24 NHL MVP, had a memorable moment.
Jokic had the honor of presenting the Hart Memorial Trophy to MacKinnon for his outstanding 2023-24 MVP performance.
Nathan MacKinnon won the prestigious award after scoring a career-high 51 goals and 89 assists for 140 points (second in the NHL). The Avalanche, like the Nuggets, did not advance beyond the second round of the playoffs, but they hope to make a deep run in 2024-25.
