Same arena, same players, different trophies, only a few weeks apart.

Earlier this month, 2024 NBA MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets presented Colorado Avalanche player Nathan MacKinnon with the 2024 Hart Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the NHL’s Most Valuable Player

On Saturday, before the Nuggets hosted the Los Angeles Clippers at Ball Arena, MacKinnon returned the favor by giving Jokic with his own MVP trophy.

MacKinnon stepped onto the court wearing Jokic’s Nuggets jersey number 15. He brought the NBA MVP award and set it on a table in center court.

Jokic, now a three-time NBA MVP, returned to welcome MacKinnon before the two posed for a photo similar to the one taken when Jokic presented MacKinnon with the Hart Trophy.

Someone could play “spot-the-difference” with those two photographs, but there aren’t many.
