The Denver Nuggets’ season hasn’t started well. They did, however, secure a significant overtime victory on the road against the Brooklyn Nets.
With the Nets having began a rebuild this offseason, playing them close does not bode well for Denver, despite a 144-139 victory in overtime.
While Russell Westbrook delivered what was easily his best performance of the short season, superstar center Nikola Jokic maintained his strong start to the season. As Tim Bontemps wrote, Jokic has created history once more, this time with multiple 40-point efforts and triple-doubles in just four games this season.
“Nikola Jokic is the 1st player with multiple triple-doubles and multiple 40-point games within his first 4 games of a season in NBA history,” the publication Bontemps said.
Jokic recorded his second triple-double of the season against the Nets, as he attempts to inspire the club to win and even their record for the season. This only adds to his status as one of the world’s most dominant basketball players, having won three of the last four MVP titles.
The Nuggets superstar concluded the game with 29 points, 18 rebounds, and 16 assists, shooting 9-of-16 from the field.
